Vidal Sasoon: Wash & Wear

(Vidal Sasoon 1928-2012)

Vidal Sasoon changed the world of hairdressing with a pair of scissors & his pioneered use of the hand-held hairdryer.

When Sasoon emerged not every salon had a hairdryer, instead women had their hair set in rollers & sat under a stationary hairdryer. Sasoon liberated & empowered woman from weekly hair salon visits with his low-maintenance, wash & wear philosophy, showcasing ultra-modern cuts such as the geometric perm, his re-creation of the bob-cut, & his reliance on the natural shine of hair.

He was the first man to have an international hair care product line with the famed slogan, “if you don’t look good, we don’t look good,” the first hairdresser to have an international teaching school & international salons.

Sasoon revolutionized the way everybody wears their hair, made British hairdressing the best in the world, & will be greatly missed.
